Two men set fire to the car of a civic activist in Kyiv. They were detained.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Kyiv police.
"The arson was organised by a 42-year-old resident of the capital. To implement his plan, he engaged a 39-year-old resident of Kyiv region, whose task was to track the location of the car and provide information to the organiser. Both suspects have been detained and face up to ten years in prison for their actions," the statement said.
Around midnight, the police received a report that a car was on fire on Vidradnyi Avenue. After extinguishing the fire and inspecting the scene, it was found that the fire was caused by arson.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers established that two men were involved in the arson - a 42-year-old resident of Kyiv and a 39-year-old resident of Kyiv region.
"One of the arsonists followed the woman and found out the address where she left her car. Having received the necessary information, the other suspect doused the victim's car with a flammable substance and set it on fire at night," the police said.
The defendants were detained, and during the investigation, material evidence confirming their involvement in the commission of a criminal offence was seized from them.
Both were served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional destruction or damage to property committed by arson.
