The training of the Ukrainian infantry brigade Anne of Kyiv" is nearing completion in eastern France.
According to Censor.NET, the head of the French Ministry of Defence, Sébastien Lecornu, announced this on social network X.
"The training of the "Anne of Kyiv" brigade is nearing completion in Grand Est. The President of the Republic was committed to this: our army is training and equipping the Ukrainian brigade," the post reads.
Lecornu noted that the exercises are taking place in real tactical conditions, with French equipment that will be directly transferred to Ukraine for use in the field.
According to AP, once deployed, the French-trained and equipped brigade could become a formidable force on the battlefield.
It will consist of 4,500 soldiers formed from infantry battalions, as well as engineers, artillery teams and other specialists, as previously stated by the French authorities.
More than 2,000 soldiers are undergoing the last steps of preparation before returning to Ukraine, journalists said.
The French military says that the brigade's arsenal will include 18 AMX 10 light tanks, 18 "Caesar" self-propelled artillery pieces, 128 armoured personnel carriers, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as other weapons and equipment.
As a reminder, since 2022, more than 100,000 servicemen of the Ukrainian Defence Forces have been trained in partner countries.
