Based on the SSU's evidence, another FSB agent who was preparing a series of Russian air attacks on Dnipro received a real prison term.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press centre.
Why was the spy convicted?
In February this year, SSU cyber specialists detained the offender red-handed while he was conducting additional reconnaissance near the Defence Forces hospital.
According to the investigation, the agent monitored the presence of Ukrainian defenders on the territory of the medical facility who were being treated for their injuries.
The offender also reconnoitered the approximate number of combat vehicles and other vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the event of "confirmation" of the information about the presence of personnel and military equipment at the hospital, the occupiers planned to launch a missile attack on it.
The agent's next task was to adjust the air attack on a local thermal power plant.
SSU officers exposed the Russian agent in advance, documented his crimes and detained him. Thus, law enforcement officers prevented hostile attacks on military and energy generating facilities.
The investigation revealed that the agent was a 22-year-old local resident who was remotely recruited by an FSB officer.
Russian agent receives prison term
The young man came to the attention of the Russian secret service because of his activity on Telegram channels in search of easy "earnings".
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU investigators, the agent was found guilty under Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
Based on the materials of the Ukrainian special service, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
