On 18 March 2025, Dmytro Biendikov, the copy editor of TSN.ua, a soldier of the 3rd SAB, was killed while performing a combat mission in eastern Ukraine. He became the 102nd media professional to die in the Russian war against Ukraine.
The death of a colleague and employee was reported by the TSN.ua website, Censor.NET reports.
Dmytro Biendikov died in eastern Ukraine, where he was from. He served in the Third Assault Brigade for less than a year, having been mobilised in July 2024.
Prior to that, he worked as a copy editor for TSN.ua at 1+1 media for almost a little over a year.
Colleagues remember him as an optimistic, energetic and interesting person who loved his work, lived for journalism and devoted most of his life to this profession.
"Our Dima is killed. These are the hardest words I have to say. Dima was from the east of Ukraine, and that's where he died. He was defending a piece of land where he was born, and he gave his life for this land. He is our friend, our colleague, our defender. At all times, he was always smiling, always able to joke and find words that made everyone smile and see the positive. We were all waiting for him to come back from the front, and he would joke: "Well, Trump promised to end the war in 24 hours, so just wait a little longer." Dima is a man of light, a man of positive attitude, a man who will never leave anyone behind," said TSN.ua CEO Svitlana Paniushkina.
Dmytro is survived by his elderly mother.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, journalist Dmytro Biednikov became the 102nd journalist killed by the Russian Federation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Censor.NET expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased defender.
