Law enforcement officers are working at the site of an explosion that occurred on October 8 in the Svyatoshinskyi district of Kyiv. There are fatalities and injuries.

The incident was reported to law enforcement officers today at around 6:30 p.m.
According to preliminary information, an explosion occurred in one of the apartments of a high-rise building, killing one person and injuring another.
An investigative team from the local police department and the capital's police headquarters, bomb disposal experts, and other relevant services are working at the scene. All circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

According to data of the capital's police, a 41-year-old man was killed in the explosion, and another, the 65-year-old owner of the house, was injured.
Preliminary reports indicate that the explosion was caused by the detonation of an unknown explosive device.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under two articles of the Criminal Code: Part 1 of Article 115 (premeditated murder) and Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons and ammunition).
Investigators, forensic experts and explosives specialists continue to work at the scene.
