In Zaporizhzhia, the murder of a leading specialist at a local defence industry plant was prevented.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, according to Censor.NET.

Details

The murder was to be committed by a 23-year-old unemployed man from Zaporizhzhia, recruited by the Russian Federation. He came to the attention of the ruscists when he was looking for "easy money" on Telegram channels.

The man completed "test tasks" and was then instructed to prepare for the physical elimination of a high-ranking official.

"Promised 'quick money', the agent began collecting data on the 'targeted' person, his work schedule and routes around the city.

The agent also organised a "observation post" opposite the checkpoint of an industrial facility to monitor the official," the statement said.

It has been documented that the Russian agent filmed a video when the plant employee left through the checkpoint. After that, the perpetrator secretly followed the man to track down his home address.

He then reported on his work to his supervisor in Russia via messenger, attaching the video surveillance files to the message.

During his "reconnaissance missions," the man also tracked the locations of the Defence Forces in Zaporizhzhia, which the ruscists planned to attack with guided bombs.

He then waited for further instructions from the Russian special services on how to eliminate the Ukrainian engineer.

The SSU acted pre-emptively and detained the agent while he was conducting reconnaissance near military transport.

During a search, his smartphone was seized, which he used to "report" to the Russians about preparations for the assassination.
