According to him, rescue and repair work is continuing at the sites of Russian strikes wherever the security situation allows.
"More than 400 drones and about 40 missiles of various types were used in this attack. The main targets were the power grid, power generation and distribution substations. There is damage in the Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Rivne regions. A high-rise building was damaged in Rivne. In Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, drones struck the administrative building of a regular agricultural college. There were also strikes in the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions. Air defence forces continue to operate in some regions," the statement said.
Russia does not want diplomacy.
"Every day, Russia can choose real diplomacy, but it chooses new strikes. It is important that everyone who supports the trilateral negotiations reacts to this. Moscow must be deprived of the opportunity to put pressure on Ukraine with cold weather. This requires missiles for the Patriot, NASAMS, and other systems. Each batch helps us get through this winter," Zelenskyy concluded.
Massive shelling on 7 February
Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine on the night and morning of 7 February. Strikes were recorded across the country, from the west to the centre and further to the eastern regions.
According to preliminary information, the enemy used:
- Russian strategic aviation (in particular, Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3);
-
many Shahed-type drones.
Launches of Kalibr and Zircon missiles were also recorded.
The shelling caused massive damage to energy infrastructure, resulting in emergency power outages in most regions of Ukraine. Scheduled power outages are currently not in effect due to the situation.
