In Kyiv, law enforcement officers exposed and detained a serviceman who had organized a scheme to illegally smuggle men of conscription age across Ukraine’s state border.
He planned to illegally take his acquaintance to Moldova, bypassing official checkpoints, Censor.NET reports.

According to the investigation, the cost of the illegal transfer was $10,000. For this money, the suspect developed the following plan:
- personally escort the "client" in his own car from the capital to the city of Uman in the Cherkasy region;
- hand the man over to his accomplices ("his people") in Uman;
- ensure unhindered crossing of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border outside official checkpoints.
The scheme was not carried out to the end. Security forces detained the serviceman "red-handed" immediately after he received the full amount of the unlawful benefit, $10,000.
The issue of serving the detainee with a notice of suspicion over the illegal smuggling of persons across Ukraine’s state border and choosing a measure of restraint for him is currently being decided. Investigative actions are ongoing to identify other persons who may be involved in the scheme.
