In the Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement officers detained a 26-year-old man who had threatened police officers with an automatic weapon. A special operation, codenamed ‘Grim’, was launched.

Today, 22 June, at around 15:30, the police received a report of domestic violence at a private residence in the village of Stavyshche, Kamianets-Podilskyi district.
Responding to the call, patrol police officers arrived at the specified address. At the scene, a man wearing a bulletproof vest and armed with an automatic weapon approached the officers. He pointed the weapon at the police and began making threats.
- To prevent the situation from escalating and to ensure public safety, police officers withdrew to a safe distance. A special police operation codenamed ‘Grim’ was launched to apprehend the armed man, the police reported.
The man’s arrest
Special forces, negotiators and specialists from the Main Directorate of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, led by Chief Ivan Ishchenko, were dispatched to the scene.
The suspect was swiftly detained. No one was injured during the operation. Police are working with the detainee’s partner — the woman is no longer in any danger. The investigation is ongoing.
