Border guards in the Kyiv region shot down a Russian cruise missile heading towards the capital using a machine gun.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service’s press office, according to Censor.NET.

"Today in the Kyiv region, one of the mobile fire teams destroyed a cruise missile that was heading towards the capital. The downed target fell outside populated areas," the statement reads.
Massive shelling on 20 August
- On the night of 20 August, Russian occupiers fired ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, at Kyiv and the surrounding region.
- As a result of the enemy strikes in the Kyiv region, one person is known to have been killed in the Brovary district. Seven people were injured.
- In Kyiv, Russian shelling claimed the lives of 13 people. Over 30 people were injured.
