Bomb disposal experts have defused an unexploded warhead from a Russian S-400 missile, containing 180 kg of explosive material, which fell in a residential area of Kyiv last night.
According to Censor.NET, this was announced by the Kyiv police.
The dangerous find was discovered by residents of the Darnytskyi district
The unexploded ordnance was found by residents of the Darnytskyi district. It could have exploded at any moment and posed a serious danger, so the police evacuated residents from nearby buildings.
Experts from the bomb disposal unit established that it contained around 180 kg of explosive material and projectiles. The specialists rendered the dangerous object safe.
It was then removed from the crash site using specialised equipment from the State Emergency Service. Explosive ordnance disposal experts transported the find to a specialised test site for subsequent destruction under controlled conditions.
The Russian strike on Kyiv and the surrounding region on the night of 1 September claimed the lives of 12 people, with at least 20 others injured. Eight people were killed in Kyiv.
