The Russian attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region claimed the lives of 12 people, with at least 20 others injured.
This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Vyhivskyi, according to Censor.NET.

"Eight people were killed in Kyiv. Most of them worked on the railways. A further seven people were injured, including a 10-year-old boy. Police investigators are documenting the crimes in the Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts," the statement reads.
In Boryspil, a five-storey building was damaged by a Russian strike.
"A child is among the casualties. Around 50 residents were evacuated by rescue workers in the first few minutes after the strike, and two people were rescued from under the rubble. Unfortunately, four people were killed during the attack on the Kyiv region. Among them was a foreign national who was due to celebrate his 26th birthday today. Rescue workers have extinguished the fires at all locations; in Kyiv, the clearing of rubble and assessment of the damage are ongoing," the minister said.
A mobile service centre run by the Ministry of Internal Affairs is operating near the damaged building.
"Citizens can, free of charge, replace documents lost or damaged during the shelling and have their destroyed vehicles written off," said Vyhivskyi.
Overnight, the Russians also struck the Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zhytomyr regions.
At least 10 people were injured. A guided aerial bomb struck Odesa.
What led up to this?
- As reported, eight people were killed and a further five injured, including three children, as a result of the attack on Kyiv.
- It was also noted that in Boryspil, four people were killed and a house, a business and a car repair workshop were damaged.
- In addition, the Russians launched a massive attack on Odesa: explosions were heard in the city and infrastructure was damaged.
- The Russian army shelled the Odesa region: the ‘Orlivka’ border crossing has temporarily suspended operations.
- Air defence forces shot down 5 ballistic missiles, 5 ‘Kalibr’ missiles, 2 ‘Banderol’ missiles and 187 enemy UAVs.
