On August 28, 19-year-old serviceman and student Artom Sinevych was killed in the Sumy direction while returning from his first deployment to combat positions.
This was reported by the State Tax University and the Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka Starosta District, as cited by Censor.NET.
What is known?
At 5:30 a.m., the group that included Artom was returning from a combat mission when it triggered an enemy anti-personnel mine. The 19-year-old defender was killed at the scene.
"He will remain in our hearts as a bright memory, a kind word and an example of courage and devotion. Open, sincere, kind and always ready to support and help others – this is how we will remember him. His life ended far too soon, but his memory will live forever. We will never forget his courage, kindness, sincerity and the mark he left in the hearts of his family, friends and everyone who knew him," the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economic Security and Customs said in remembrance of the young man.
More about the fallen defender
- Artom was born in Kyiv on June 18, 2007, but spent his entire life in the village of Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka, where he graduated from the local school. During his studies, he participated in academic competitions, won medals in sporting events, and took part in the Dzhura military-patriotic game.
"He was sincere, kind, incredibly determined and deeply interested in history," the community said.
In 2024, the young man joined the Centuria youth organisation and became a student at the State Tax University in Irpin, majoring in Law Enforcement. In 2025, Artom Sinevych enrolled in the military training department.
- In June 2026, the young man switched to part-time studies to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From May 11, 2026, the defender was officially listed among the personnel of military unit A3449 of the International Legion of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) (DIU of MoD)
The place and time of the farewell ceremony for Artom Sinevych will be announced later.
Artom’s classmates organised a fundraiser to support his family.
