Member of the European Parliament, German politician Rebecca Harms has visited Ukraine's eastern town of Avdiivka.

Harms visited the Ukrainian troops' front line outside Avdiivka, inspected the town and toured the areas that suffered most from last week's artillery strikes.

The German politician was impressed by Ukrainian officers and soldiers who she said were real heroes showing courage and bravery in protecting both local civilians and Ukraine in general.

She emphasized that the whole world is now in a state of anxiety because of the events in the Donbas, and Ukraine will not be alone in the fight against Russian aggression.

Harms says the European Parliament will continue to condemn bold and heavy attacks on the city and do its best to lower the tension in the region and ensure the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

She documented evidence of crimes against Ukraine for their further transfer to the international tribunal.

Rebecca Harms is one of those European politicians who work hard to foster the issue of Ukraine joining the European Union.
