US has intercepted another tanker belonging to Russia’s "shadow fleet" in Indian Ocean. VIDEO

The United States intercepted the tanker Aquila II in the Indian Ocean. The vessel was violating sanctions.

What is known?

"The Aquila II was operating in violation of President Trump's quarantine on sanctioned vessels in the Caribbean. It fled, and we followed. The Department of War tracked and pursued this vessel from the Caribbean Sea to the Indian Ocean," they said.

What is known about the Aquila II tanker?

The Ministry of Defence's DIU reports that the tanker is involved in the export of sanctioned Russian oil and oil products from Russian ports on the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Pacific region.

The vessel has been sanctioned by the United States, the United Kingdom, the EU, Canada, Switzerland and Ukraine.Ukraine link
