President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Netherlands Dilan Yesilgoz-Segerius and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Tom Berendsen, who are representatives of the country's new government, which began work this week.
Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.
A signal of support for Ukraine
"Today, representatives of the new Dutch government, which began work this week, are visiting Ukraine – the heads of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This visit is a great signal of support for our people. It is very important for us," the message says.
Zelenskyy emphasised that thanks to cooperation with all Dutch governments during this war, relations between the countries have already taken on the character of a strategic partnership and trust.
What was discussed
According to the president, the main focus of the talks was on strengthening Ukraine's air defence, continuing the PURL programme, diplomacy to achieve a dignified peace, and deepening defence cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands.
"Thank you for your willingness to continue helping Ukraine. We can count on the Netherlands, and that is important. I am grateful for all the support shown to our people," Zelenskyy added.
