Drone Industry
The Unmanned Systems Forces have begun deploying unguided rockets (URMs) from long-range drones to strike targets deep behind enemy lines.
This was reported on the Telegram channel by USF Commander Robert Brovdi (Madiar), according to Censor.NET.
The drones operate at a range of up to 500 kilometres and carry a warhead weighing up to 60 kilograms.
Details about NURS
NURS are unguided rocket projectiles traditionally used by helicopters and attack aircraft to strike ground targets.
However, Ukrainian operators have now integrated such weapons into long-range drones, opening up new possibilities for attacks on the occupiers’ rear facilities.
It is also noted that the combined use of a kamikaze drone together with eight NURS allows for more effective strikes against mobile air defence units, machine-gun crews and other targets providing cover for Russian air defence systems.
In particular, footage released shows a Ukrainian FP-2 kamikaze drone firing unguided air-to-surface missiles at a Russian Black Sea Fleet communications hub in Crimea.
