233 days at combat position: Wife of soldier from 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of Air Assault Forces asks for rotation. VIDEO

Ivan Nahybin, a soldier with the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Air Assault Forces, has remained continuously at a combat position since January. His wife Olena has spent several months appealing to the military unit, the Ministry of Defence, the Office of the Military Ombudsman and other state authorities to have him rotated.

This was reported by Censor.NET.

According to Olena, her husband deployed to the combat position on January 12, 2026, and as of September 1 had already spent 233 days there. Since then, she has communicated with him only through voice messages recorded via radio communication, as she has no contact with him by phone.

For several months, Olena has been sending requests to the military unit for the rotation provided for by law. However, the responses she receives state that "rotation is possible under favourable conditions."

Olena Nahybina appealed to the Office of the Military Ombudsman, the Ministry of Defence hotline and the Office of the President of Ukraine.

At the request of the soldier’s wife, our online publication also sent inquiries to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence and directly to the Command of the Air Assault Forces.

On August 28, we received a response from the commander of military unit A2120, which stated: "The delay in replacing the personnel is caused exclusively by objective factors (the extremely difficult operational situation). Soldier Ivan Serhiiovych Nahybin will be rotated to a recovery area immediately upon minimal stabilisation of the situation in the sector and provided that tactical conditions are favourable (creation of a safe evacuation corridor)."
