British intelligence has confirmed Russia’s loss of several Kinzhal missiles in Ukraine, noting that these events came as a surprise to the Russian Federation, which presented the missiles as "invincible".

As Censor.NET informs with reference to Euro Integration, this is stated in the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense on Wednesday.

According to the review, the aerial battle over the Russian-Ukrainian border has intensified over the past week. Only on May 13, 2023, four vessels of the Russian Aerospace Forces, two modern combat aircraft and two helicopters crashed, apparently after being shot down over the Bryansk region.

On May 3, for the first time in history, Ukraine shot down an air-launched ballistic missile "Kinzhal".

Subsequently, Russia made a priority attempt to neutralize Ukraine's advanced air defense equipment, but in the process probably lost several more Kinzhal missiles, analysts noted.

They emphasize that the ever-increasing air threat over Russia's border area will be of particular concern to the Russian Air Force, as they use the area to launch airstrikes in support of the war.

"The apparent vulnerability of the Kinzhal missiles is probably a surprise and causes confusion in Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin called this system invincible," the British Ministry of Defense stated.
