Xi Jinping supported African "peace plan"

The President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of South Africa (South Africa), Cyril Ramaphosa, said that he supports the peace initiatives of the leaders of African countries in Ukraine and their intention to visit Kyiv and Moscow in search of a political settlement of the "crisis".
This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
The diplomatic agency said that during the exchange of views on the "Ukrainian crisis", Ramaphosa noted that South Africa supports China's position paper on a political solution to the "crisis" and hopes that Ukraine and Russia will be able to resume negotiations as soon as possible.
The President of South Africa also announced the intention of a peaceful delegation of leaders of six African countries, including South Africa, to visit Ukraine and Russia in order to "achieve an early end to the conflict."
The leader of China, for his part, noted his country's consistent position regarding the "crisis in Ukraine" and its readiness to further contribute to its political settlement and solution through dialogue.
"It is very good that Mr. President and the leaders of African states formed a peace delegation and will visit Russia and Ukraine.
I hope that the peace-loving countries of the world who stand for justice will be able to express rational voices for peace and convince the need for negotiations," Xi said, as quoted by China's Foreign Ministry.
It will be recalled that on May 16, South African President Ramaphosa announced that Zelensky and Putin agreed to receive a peace delegation of negotiators from Africa. The President's Office confirmed this information. The White House emphasized that any peace initiatives must first be approved by Ukraine.
According to Reuters, the "peace plan" of African leaders provides for negotiations with Russia even without the withdrawal of occupation troops from the territory of Ukraine.
