європарламент

The European Parliament called on NATO allies to invite Ukraine to join the Alliance, and "the accession process will begin after the end of the war and will be completed as soon as possible".

According to Censor.NET, citing Interfax-Ukraine, the resolution was considered at the plenary session of the European Parliament, with 425 votes in favour, 38 against, and 42 abstentions.

"Calls upon NATO Allies to fulfil their commitments to Ukraine's membership in NATO and expects the upcoming summits in Vilnius and Washington to pave the way for an invitation to Ukraine to join NATO, and that the accession process will begin after the end of the war and be finalised as soon as possible," the resolution says.

In addition, the EP called on EU member states, NATO allies and like-minded partners to work closely with Ukraine to develop a "temporary framework of security guarantees to be implemented immediately after the war, until full NATO membership is achieved".

"(The EP) underlines that Ukraine's integration into NATO and the EU will strengthen regional and global security, contribute to stability and strengthen the ties of cooperation and shared values between Ukraine and the Euro-Atlantic community," the document says.
