"Ukrhydroenergo", together with two law firms, has begun preparing lawsuits against the Russian Federation to compensate for damages from the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP and the attack on infrastructure.

This is reported in the company's statementCensor.NET informs.

"The companies were selected through the Pro Bono Platform of the Energy Community Secretariat. The two law firms jointly pledged to provide 375 hours of legal work free of charge," the statement said.

"Ukrhydroenergo" noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, the Russian army has attacked Ukrhydroenergo's facilities more than 50 times, which led to the loss of about 2.5 thousand MW of capacity.

In particular, on the morning of June 6, it became known that the Russian occupiers had blown up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The explosion completely destroyed the engine room, and the station is beyond repair.

More than 62 thousand hectares of forest in Kherson region were damaged as a result of the occupiers' explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The amount of damage caused to Ukraine by the occupiers' blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant is almost $14 billion.
