There will be no US troops in Ukraine. Other countries should address this issue at level of their governments and NATO - Blinken

The issue of the possible deployment of troops from individual Western countries to Ukraine should be resolved at the level of their governments and NATO. There will be no US troops in Ukraine, it is not in their interests.
This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in an interview with the French channels LCI/TF1, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, President Joe Biden's "clear" policy is that there will be no US troops on the territory of Ukraine.
"Because for us, this will lead to a direct conflict with Russia, which we want to avoid. This is not in our interests and not in the interests of our allies," Blinken said.
The U.S. Secretary of State noted that at the same time, partners need to support Ukraine this year and in the future.
Asked if there would be troops from France, Poland, Finland or other countries in Ukraine, Blinken added that "everyone has to make decisions at the national level, as well as at the Alliance level".
Macron's statement on Western troops in Ukraine
To recap, in late February, French President Macron said that a possible deployment of Western troops to Ukraine"cannot be ruled out". He later added that his resonant words had been carefully considered.
At the same time, the French president's statements provoked a negative reaction from the governments of the allied countries, whose leaders were quick to assure that they would not send troops.
Moscow reacted angrily to Macron's remarks, warning that the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine would inevitably lead to a conflict between Russia and NATO.
On 14 March, President Macron gave an interview to the French media in which he responded to Putin's "nuclear" threats by saying that France also has nuclear weapons.
The French leader also said that if Russia wins this war, the credibility of Europe will be reduced to zero. Also, in the context of the announcement of sending troops to Ukraine, Macron noted that France is ready to invest resources to prevent Russia from winning.
