Ukraine launches "Army+" app for military: it will greatly simplify paperwork

В Україні запустили застосунок

During the presentation of the Army+ digital application, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that it should become the second element of the digital state after Diia and that it is intended to free the army from the piling up of paperwork and bureaucracy.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.

"Starting today (8 August - Ed.), the Army+ app will be available. It starts with the basic function - electronic reports. In a few minutes and clicks, it will be possible to do what now takes hours or even days. The app will also include ArmyID (electronic military ID cards - Ed.) and surveys (of soldiers - Ed.) to see the real situation with the supply of our units. Over time, we will fill it with new functions," Zelenskyy said.

The president also noted that the app's goal is to free the Ukrainian army from paperwork so that commanders and soldiers do not waste their time on "outdated and unnecessary" bureaucracy.

In particular, he said, the app will include courses and training programmes for soldiers. Zelenskyy also added that Army+ will ensure reliable communication between soldiers by creating secure chats.

"In general, Army+ should become the second element of our digital state. First, we launched Diia, and it is already used by more than 9 million Ukrainians. This is our super app. Next, Army+ is the second element. It will also be full of services. And there will be a third one, which we will present in September - our "Mriia" app for children, parents, teachers... " Diia is about the functioning of our state. "Army+ is about our defence. Our "Mriia" is about children and our future," Zelenskyy said.

For his part, the Prime Minister noted that on 30 July, the government issued a separate resolution regulating the Army+ app. According to him, the services are already starting to work and can be used by the military.

Army+ app

In April 2024, the Ministry of Defence announced that the government was developing a mobile application called Army+ for Ukrainian military personnel. The app will allow servicemen to use their military ID cards, apply for war veteran status, file a report or order ammunition.

In February, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine launched a new chatbot, Army+, designed to provide support to the military, civilians and their families.

The Ministry of Defence announced the launch of the Army+ app on 8 August: For defenders to be engaged in service, not paperwork.
