I wanted to give Taurus, not money: dismissed Finance Minister Lindner criticizes Scholz
Christian Lindner, who was dismissed from the post of German Finance Minister, said that Chancellor Olaf Scholz allegedly obstructed military aid to Ukraine.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Berliner Zeitung.
According to him, the Free Democratic Party "never hesitated" to provide assistance to Ukraine.
The publication noted that Scholz demanded to provide Ukraine with three billion euros. However, Lindner pointed to the difficult financial situation and instead offered to give Ukraine what it needs most to effectively defend itself against Russia - namely, Taurus cruise missiles.
Scholz "categorically rejected this possibility" and informed Lindner of his dismissal.
According to the newspaper, the FDP and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) are unanimous on the Taurus supply.
Earlier it was reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the dismissal of Finance Minister Christian Lindner, who is the chairman of the Free Democratic Party. This actually means the collapse of the ruling government coalition in Germany.
