The head of a sector of one of the departments of the Main Department of the National Police in Poltava region, a local businessman and his assistant were detained for beating a guy who stood up for a girl on November 2, 2024, in Poltava.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, Censor.NET reports.
"On November 2, 2024, in Poltava, in one of the recreation facilities, the suspects inflicted bodily harm on the victim, who stood up for his girlfriend. At the same time, they grossly violated public order and the work of the institution. The victim, a resident of the capital, was taken to the hospital," the statement said.
The prosecutor's office added that the issue of serving the detainees with a notice of suspicion of hooliganism committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is currently being decided.
Earlier, it was reported that in a Poltava restaurant, businessman Oleksandr Pavliuchenko and the deputy head of the Kyiv district police department Oleksandr Pereli beat a guy who stood up for his girlfriend.
