The war in Ukraine cannot be ended with just a piece of paper and a few signatures.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.
Commenting on yesterday's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump, Zelenskyy noted that the ceasefire without guarantees could be reignited at any time, as Putin has already done.
"To ensure that there are no more losses of Ukrainians, we need to guarantee the reliability of peace and not turn a blind eye to the occupation. We all know Putin very well - he is sick of wars. He began his career with a brutal war against Chechnya and is constantly fomenting other wars. He can only be stopped by force, by the leaders of the world who can become leaders of peace. We are counting on America and the whole world to stop Putin. The only thing he is afraid of is America and the unity of the world," the head of state said.
According to Zelenskyy, it is peace through strength that Ukraine is talking about with all its partners - real peace and the steps and guarantees that people and the state under attack by Russia need for this.
"The war should not be endless, only peace should be permanent and reliable," he summarizes.
Earlier, Donald Trump called on Ukraine and Russia to immediately cease fire and start negotiations.
As reported, Zelenskyy said after his meeting with Trump and Macron that Ukraine wants to end this war as soon as possible and fairly.
As a reminder, on December 7, a trilateral meeting between Zelenskyy, Trump, and Macron took place in Paris.
