150 days "on zero": Warriors of 10th SMAB of "Edelweiss" have been holding their position in forefront for 5 months

The soldiers of the 10th SMAB "Edelweiss" Vitalii Sydoruk (Sydor) and Viktor Yanishevskyi (Zeus) have been holding their position under constant attack for 5 months.
This is stated in the material of the "Zakhidnyi Kurier", Censor.NET informs.
Staff Sergeant Vitalii Sydoruk (Sydor) was born on 7 March 1978 in the village of Lypliany, Kivertsi district, Volyn region.

On 23 April 2024, he was mobilised and immediately joined an infantry battalion. The first position Vitalii took was called "Typhoon". And then "Masian" - a difficult position that was almost impossible to get to, but he did it.
"There were two of us on the Masian: me and my comrade Viktor Yanishevskyi, call sign Zeus. It was there that we first met and got to know each other. The task was to observe and report correctly and in a timely manner, as the position was on the front line. ... The days were long, and over time we got used to enemy shelling, constant explosions and the sound of drones. Since logistics were impossible, they used drones to deliver provisions and everything we needed for our service. It was a terrible heat, and it happened that the bottle could be damaged during the delivery of provisions and we were left without water," he said.
Over time, he realised that his body was weakening, and in 150 days his muscles began to atrophy because he was not moving much. Later, he and his fellow soldier were informed that they would be replaced.
"I was very worried about how we would get out, because the hardest part was the road, constant shelling, kamikaze drones chasing us at every step, and my body was weakened. It was the so-called "road of death". And then the command was given: "Get out!" I will never forget this road! It seemed that we would not get out, the sounds of drones accompanied us everywhere. Suddenly, there was an explosion, I felt pain in my legs and realised that I was wounded and would not be able to walk. It seemed like just a little more, but I couldn't move. Zeus quickly provided me with first aid and applied a tourniquet. At that moment I said to my comrade: "Go on alone, because you will die because of me." He replied: "We've been together for so long, do you think I'm going to leave you now?" And he didn't. When Vitia pulled me to the evacuation point, I was almost unconscious. I looked at him and realised that during this time we had become not just casual acquaintances, but true comrades," said Sydor.
Vitalii regained consciousness in hospital and had his leg amputated. However, the soldier said that despite everything, if he could turn back the clock, he would do the same thing. According to him, the war is not only for the guys in the trenches, it is a common misfortune for the whole of Ukraine.
Viktor Yanishevskyi (Zeus) was born on 15 May 1980 in the village of Brovari, Buchach district, Ternopil region. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2024, and after completing a basic military training course, he joined the "Edelweiss".

Together with Vitalii Sydoruk, he bravely held the defence at Masian. Zeus stayed at the position for 124 days.
After being wounded and undergoing treatment, Zeus most wanted to see his beloved wife and daughter, and then went on a long-awaited leave, after which he will return to duty and continue to defend Ukraine.
