Enemy intensified activity in Kherson direction, Defense Forces repelled attempts of Russian movements - Zelenskyy
On December 20, Russian troops became more active in the Kherson direction. However, the combat units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the enemy's attempts to advance further.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening video address, Censor.NET reports.
Today, Russians carried out another barbaric shelling of Kherson. In general, we see the occupier's activation in the Kherson direction. I would like to thank the combat units that are defending our positions and repelled the attempts of Russian movements there," he said.
Also, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to the President on the situation in Donetsk region, in the Zaporizhzhia direction and on the fighting in Kursk region.
According to Zelenskyy, "more and more North Korean soldiers have been killed in the Kursk direction."
"It is indicative that Russia is trying to present these North Korean soldiers as representatives of national communities living on the territory of Russia itself. This is Moscow's complete disregard for indigenous peoples and for Koreans themselves," he added.
As a reminder, on the morning of December 20, Russian troops carried out a massive artillery shelling of Kherson. Two people were reported dead and nine wounded.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson RMA said that enemy subversive reconnaissance groups tried to advance toward Kherson but were immediately detected and eliminated by Ukrainian defenders.
