Russia deliberately launches missile strikes on peaceful cities of Ukraine before convening UN Security Council - Kyslytsia

consequences of ruscist attack on Kyiv on December 20

The aggressor country Russia carried out at least 18 missile strikes on peaceful cities of Ukraine, including civilian infrastructure, before convening a meeting of the UN Security Council on our country.

According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, this was stated by Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Serhii Kyslytsia, when the Russian delegation reconvened the Security Council on the topic "Support for Peace and Security of Ukraine."

"We have already drawn the Council's attention to a clear correlation between the timing of Russian attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and Russian-initiated Security Council meetings, like today's. This correlation took place in at least 18 cases," Kyslytsia emphasized.

The Permanent Representative cited specific dates - Russian-initiated meetings and Russian missile strikes on Ukraine's energy and other civilian infrastructure. This list covers the period from April 11 to December 20, 2024.

"This morning, Russia again started the Security Council meeting with an air terror against Ukrainian cities, in particular Kyiv, Kherson and Kryvyi Rih," the Permanent Representative said.

Kyslytsia reminded that earlier Russian dictator Putin called for a "high-tech duel " between Russia and Western countries. According to him, Russia will strike Kyiv with the Oreshnik, and Western missile defense systems will try to protect the capital.

"Obviously, even Putin's representative to the UN decided not to mention this crazy idea today, because he realizes that it belongs in a psychiatric hospital rather than in the Security Council," the Ukrainian diplomat emphasizes.

To force Russia to stop its aggression, we need a powerful and effective international coalition of states that share the principles of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the Peace Formula and the UN Charter," the Permanent Representative of Ukraine added.

Kyslytsia called on the UN Security Council to focus on addressing the threats posed by Russia's aggressive neo-imperialism and ensure that war criminals are brought to justice.
