Starting from January, teachers will receive UAH 1 thousand additional monthly payment - Shmyhal

From 1 January, teachers will be paid one thousand hryvnias

From the beginning of next year, Ukrainian teachers will receive a monthly salary supplement of UAH 1,000.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, we are allocating a subvention of UAH 4.6 billion for the first half of next year, so that from January all Ukrainian teachers will receive an additional monthly payment of UAH 1,000 ‘in hand’ after paying taxes. From 1 September, it will be UAH 2,000 'in hand'," he said.

The government also decided to allocate UAH 1.6 billion in subventions to local budgets for the purchase of school buses next year.

"Yesterday, we allocated UAH 2.8 billion for a programme of free hot meals for primary school children. This is one of the programmes we are implementing as part of the 'Winter Support' programme.

We have allocated UAH 305 million of subventions in 2025 to support children with special educational needs.

We have allocated UAH 150 million of subventions for the regions to improve the qualifications of teachers. This is part of the New Ukrainian School programme, which will continue next year," the Prime Minister added.
