Over 430,000 soldiers and 9,000 armored vehicles: Russia’s biggest losses in 2024 - Ministry of Defense
In 2024, the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted the largest losses on the Russian army during the full-scale invasion.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, Censor.NET reports.
430,790 servicemen were killed, which is equivalent to 36 motorized rifle divisions of the Russian Army.
The largest losses in manpower were recorded in December 2024 -48,670 soldiers. The previous anti-record was in November - 45,720.
The aggressor's technical losses also reached record levels. In 2024, the Ukrainian military destroyed:
- 3,689 tanks - the equivalent of 119 tank battalions;
- 8,956 armored combat vehicles - the equivalent of more than 37 motorized infantry divisions;
- 13,050 artillery pieces, which would be enough for 725 artillery divisions;
- 21,345 vehicles for various purposes;
- 313 multiple-launch rocket systems and 407 air defense systems.
Most tanks were destroyed in May (428 units) and armored combat vehicles in October (923 units). July was a record month for artillery destruction, with 1,520 artillery systems destroyed in a month.
Records for daily destruction were set in May and November, when the Ukrainian military destroyed 31 tanks and 81 armored vehicles, respectively.
"In November 2024, the highest number of enemy vehicles hit and destroyed since February 2022 was recorded - 2,469. And the total number for the year is 21,345 units," the Ministry of Defense said.
As a reminder, in 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine authorized more than 1,300 samples of weapons and military equipment for use. Almost 75% of them were manufactured by Ukrainian enterprises.
