RF reduced number of drone attacks against Ukraine in December - British intelligence

drone attacks against Ukraine

UK intelligence analyzed Russian drone attacks on the territory of Ukraine in December 2024.

This is stated in the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense of January 13, Censor.NET reports.

As noted, during December 2024, Russia launched about 1700 drones of various types in Ukraine, which is less than in November, when 2300 were launched. This is the first time since March to April 2024 that the number of drones decreased.

The intelligence agency noted that weather factors likely affected operations at the beginning of the month, as evidenced by several nights with waves of more than 100 drones, which followed periods of particularly low or no activity.

It is also noted that the Ukrainian Air Force reported that 53% of Russian drones were shot down, while the rest were disabled by electronic warfare or deviated from their course without causing a significant threat.

"Various factors may positively or negatively affect the monthly number of launches, but it remains likely that Russia can maintain the number of launches at a minimum of 1,500 per month," the British intelligence added.
