Czech Republic wants to organize new initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine

Purchase of ammunition for Ukraine:

The Czech government is calling on other EU countries to support a new initiative for ammunition for Ukraine.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the German media outlet N-TV.

"This is a matter of political will, and if many EU member states rejoin our initiative, we can achieve a lot for Ukraine," Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said.

He also noted that it is not yet known how many rounds of ammo will be supplied to Ukraine if the new initiative is implemented.

"We are currently looking at how we can finance the new ammunition initiative, and then we will see how many rounds of ammo we can get for this money," he added.

As reported earlier, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that 80% of the ammunition promised under the Czech Republic's initiative had already been delivered to Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has already received the promised one million rounds of ammunition from the European Union.

By the end of 2024, the Czech Republic promised to supply Ukraine with 500,000 artillery shells under the Czech initiative.
