In 2025, Britain will provide Ukraine with more military aid than before - Starmer

This year, the UK intends to provide Ukraine with more military assistance than before.
This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Suspilne reports, Censor.NET informs.
He stressed that everything possible should be done to support Ukraine's defense. According to Starmer, Britain intends to increase the volume of military assistance to Ukraine.
"We are all working to end this war. But let's be clear - peace will come through strength. And we must do everything we can to support Ukraine's defense. This means stabilizing the front line, providing the necessary equipment and training. That's why this year the UK will provide more military support to Ukraine than ever before," said the British Prime Minister.
In addition, Starmer added that it is important to see that all allies are stepping up, especially in Europe.
He also recalled that US President Donald Trump had threatened Russia with new sanctions.
"It is clear that this has worried Putin. We know that he is concerned about the state of the Russian economy, so I am here to work with our European partners to keep up the pressure. Targeting energy revenues and the companies that equip his missile factories to disrupt Putin's military machine. Because in the end, along with our military support, that's what will bring peace," Starmer said.
The politician also said that the allies should work to strengthen NATO in order to counter Russia's spying campaigns, its sabotage in Europe, cyberattacks, election interference, and assassination attempts.
Starmer added that Britain's defense spending currently amounts to 2.3% of GDP. According to him, London is working to bring this figure to 2.5%.
As a reminder, on January 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed an agreement on centennial cooperation in Kyiv.
