Turkey reaffirms its support for Ukraine and non-recognition of occupation of Crimea

Turkey strongly supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea, and hopes that next year the world will celebrate the anniversary of peace, not war.
This was stated by the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of resistance to the occupation of Crimea, Censor.NET reports citing ""І-U"".
"This week we entered the 4th year of the war, and today marks the 11th year of the occupation of Crimea. Turkey, as a loyal friend and strategic partner of Ukraine, has adopted a clear and consistent policy that denies the occupation and subsequent annexation of Crimea in 2014," the statement said.
The embassy stressed that for Ankara, this is a principled position based on legal and moral principles. The Turkish side also stressed the importance of Crimean Tatars as a common historical and cultural link between the two countries.
The support for the work of the Crimean Platform, which promotes the issue of de-occupation of the peninsula at the international level, was also noted.
The embassy also recalled that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently stated the need for a diplomatic settlement of the war, stressing that ‘there can be no winners in war, and in a just peace there will be no losers’.
