Starmer and Macron have been calling on Zelenskyy to change his approach to dealing with Trump for five days - NYT

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron have called on Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy to change his approach to communicating with US President Donald Trump after a dispute between them.
The New York Times writes about this, citing sources, Censor.NET reports.
The publication writes that Starmer offered Zelenskyy to return to the White House to immediately establish relations with Trump after the dispute in the Oval Office.
However, according to an unnamed British official, the idea was rejected by both sides, who believed it would be better to ‘let tempers cool’.
Over the course of five days, Starmer and Macron urged Zelenskyy to change his approach to dealing with Trump, British and French officials said. These conversations became even more acute after the White House announced on 3 March that it would suspend US military aid to Ukraine.
Speaking to Congress on 4 March, "Trump seemed to beam as he described Mr. Zelensky’s outreach, and his expressions of gratitude," NYT notes. The head of the White House said that he had received a letter in which the Ukrainian leader wrote that he was serious about a peace settlement.
According to a senior official close to Macron, the French team worked closely with Ukrainian officials on the text of the statement. According to the source, "there was cooperation on all the details."
