Orbán announces new economic cooperation between Hungary and US: this is good for us, even if there is tariff war
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced a new package of economic cooperation between Budapest and Washington. According to him, this will help Hungary compensate for the damage caused by possible US tariffs.
Orban said this in a speech at the annual conference of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Reuters reports, Censor.NET informs.
The politician said that the economic package would expand the existing political partnership between Budapest and Washington.
According to Orban, the agreement will minimize the damage to Hungary in the event of a trade war between the United States and the European Union.
"There will be a package of US-Hungarian economic cooperation, which is good for us, even if there is a tariff war," the Hungarian prime minister said.
He noted that the imposition of US tariffs against Europe has a negative impact on the entire European economy, including Hungary. However, according to Orban, the agreement with the United States will compensate for this.
