A satellite image of the oil refinery in Tuapse, Russia, that was attacked on the night of 14 March, has been posted online.
The photo was published by Schemes (a project of Radio Liberty), Censor.NET reports .
"After the strike on the enterprise on the night of 14 March, a fire broke out, which, according to satellite images from the Sentinel EO Hub Browser service for 15 March, has been going on for more than a day," the statement said.
The governor of Russia's Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, said the fire, which spread over an area of more than a thousand square metres, was started as a result of an attack on the oil complex. He said that one of the petrol tanks caught fire.
So far, Ukraine has not officially commented on the situation, but earlier the General Staff reported repeated strikes by Ukrainian drones on the Tuapse refinery.
The Ukrainian military noted that this plant processes oil with a declared volume of 12 million tonnes per year, of which more than 90% of the oil products are exported. In addition, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this enterprise plays a significant role in supplying the Russian occupation forces.
On the night of 14 March, drones attacked the Krasnodar Territory, including the Tuapse oil refinery.
