Warsaw is actively working to overcome the resistance of Hungary, which is trying to block Ukraine's negotiations on membership in the European Union, emphasizing the importance of this process for Poland.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Pawel Wronski, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"Negotiations are ongoing, and it is positive that during the recent discussion of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, many ministers spoke and put pressure on the Hungarian Foreign Minister, pointing out that the issues of bilateral relations, the solution of which Ukraine declares, cannot block the discussion on the first cluster, the opening of which should arise only from the fulfillment of objective criteria by Ukraine," Wronski said.
He notes that Poland is actively working to overcome Hungary's resistance on this issue, as Budapest is trying to use bilateral problems with Kyiv to block the process.
