This year, Russia plans to increase its troop grouping by 150,000 personnel – Palisa

In 2025, the Russian army intends to increase its troop numbers by 150,000. There are signs of preparations for an offensive on several fronts.
According to Censor.NET, this was announced by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa during a meeting with Ukrainian and international media.
"There are signs that Russian forces are preparing to intensify combat operations in several directions. I believe they will apply pressure everywhere, but I don't currently see any conditions under which a section of the front could collapse and trigger a domino effect.
The Russians do have resources — but are they sufficient to achieve operational success? I have my doubts. For example, Russia is currently bringing in another 150,000 personnel, which is roughly equivalent to 15 motorized rifle divisions. It's expected that in the near future, the Russians will attempt to apply maximum pressure in any direction where it’s possible," he said.
According to Palisa, despite Russia’s plans, all units cannot be deployed into battle at the same time.
It is expected that in the near future the occupants will try to increase pressure in certain areas of the frontline where possible.
"Therefore, it is expected that in the near future they will try to exert maximum pressure in those areas where it is possible. This is happening against the backdrop of ongoing consultations on the ceasefire," added the deputy head of the OP.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the spring conscription to the Russian army. As part of the draft, the Kremlin plans to recruit 160,000 Russians.
At the end of March 2025, The Associated Press reported that Russian troops were preparing to launch a new military offensive in the coming weeks to maximize pressure on Ukraine and strengthen the Kremlin's negotiating position in ceasefire talks.
The commander of the 1st Assault Battalion of the Third Assault Brigade, Vladimir Fokin, said that Russian occupation forces are preparing to launch a new offensive. Their units have been training for over a month.
