Russian army command is redeploying forces across multiple directions and opening new areas of combat to stretch front line – Zhorin

The Russian offensive in the Sumy region is not a reason for panic. After all, Russian attempts to break through the border, the work of enemy subversive reconnaissance groups and shelling are taking place there all the time.
According to Censor.NET, this was stated by the deputy commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade Maksym Zhorin.
He emphasized that as of today, the enemy has not made any dramatic changes or significant successes in the Sumy sector. The Ukrainian army has long learned to counteract the Russians in such conditions.
"Another issue is the plans and current strategy of the Russian Federation. They are trying to stretch the line of contact by redeploying forces to different areas and opening up new areas of combat operations. We just need to be prepared for various events and keep abreast of the current situation," summarized Zhorin.
As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in late March that Russia was preparing a new spring offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Russia's offensive against Kharkiv and Sumy regions had actually already begun.
At the same time, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that the enemy had increased the intensity of assault operations on the border of the region by 30%.
According to the BBC, the Russian army is trying to create a buffer zone in the Sumy region. Also, one of the enemy's goals is to surround or semi-encircle Sumy.
The day before it became known that there are no Russian troops in the Sumy region, but the occupiers are trying to break through into the region every day. The regional authorities decided to increase the number of settlements to be evacuated. These are settlements up to 17 kilometers from the border.
