Disabled war veteran allegedly beaten by TCR military personnel in Cherkasy region: police launch investigation
In the village of Stebliv, Cherkasy region, servicemen of a Territorial Center of Recruitment (TCR) allegedly beat a soldier with third-degree disability status during a notification campaign. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation.
According to Censor.NET, the Cherkasy regional police reported the incident.
They said the dispute broke out between servicemen of the TCR, a veteran, and his brother.
It was noted that on September 12, police received a report about the incident that took place in Stebliv, Zvenyhorod district, during notification measures.
Preliminary findings indicate that a conflict erupted between the 46-year-old victim, his brother, and employees of the District TCR, which escalated into a scuffle. As a result, the man sustained injuries and sought medical assistance.
According to the Cherkasy regional police, the Zvenyhorod district police department has launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Meanwhile, the "Korsun-Shevchenkivska Sich" Facebook page reported that servicemen of the Horodyshche Territorial Recruitment Center attacked a Ukrainian defender with third-degree disability status.
"The soldier, who fought near Vuhledar and in other hotspots, was sprayed with pepper spray and kicked in the neck — precisely the place where he had suffered a severe injury and undergone surgery," the post read.
