EU plans tariffs to halt Russian oil imports to Hungary and Slovakia

The European Union will introduce tariffs on imports of Russian oil to force Hungary and Slovakia to stop buying energy from Russia.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced this, according to Censor.NET, citing LIGA.net.
Earlier, Donald Trump repeatedly urged European countries to stop buying Russian oil and reiterated his demand at the UN General Assembly.
"Trump is absolutely right. We are working on it," von der Leyen said.
The European Commission president noted that the EU has already significantly reduced gas supplies from Russia, completely abandoned Russian coal, and substantially cut Russian oil imports, though some still reaches the European continent.
"We are now imposing sanctions on ports receiving LNG from Russia, and we want to introduce tariffs on Russian oil that still flows into the European Union. We want to eliminate the remaining oil and gas coming from Russia to the EU," she added.
