Russians have effectively destroyed Kinburn Spit and "Askania-Nova," - Pletenchuk

Russian occupiers have effectively destroyed the Kinburn Spit and the "Askania-Nova" Nature Reserve through their military operations in southern Ukraine.
This was stated by Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon broadcast, according to Censor.NET.
Ecology
"The Kinburn Spit has been virtually destroyed. The same Askania-Nova Reserve... Ecologists are sounding the alarm, they have also approached me and asked me to raise this issue. Because, in fact, it is not very popular in the media," he said.
According to Pletenchuk, it is currently impossible to say whether the Kinburn Spit will recover and when this will happen.
Dolphins
"Around Crimea, military operations also affect both flora and fauna. We mentioned dolphins, but the figures vary greatly. Sometimes ecologists write about thousands of animals that have died. That's just dolphins. Because they are sensitive to explosions and to what is happening around Crimea," he added.
Ecologists from the Odesa region reported the appearance of oil slicks that reached the coast near Odesa, although their scale is significantly smaller than in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
