HACC has chosen preventive measure for former head of SBGS Deineko - bail of 10 million hryvnias

The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed preventive measures on former State Border Guard Service head Serhii Deineko and former head of the "Solomonovo" border guard department Oleksandr Marushchak.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
What is known?
Deineko was placed under a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 10 million hryvnias, and Marushchak - 2 million hryvnias.
Both suspects have been assigned appropriate procedural obligations, in particular:
- to appear before the investigator, prosecutor and court at the first request;
- not to leave the territory of Ukraine without the permission of the investigator, prosecutor or court;
- to notify the investigator, prosecutor and court of any change in their place of residence and work;
- refrain from communicating with suspects in this criminal proceeding, witnesses and any other persons regarding the circumstances set out in the suspicion;
- leave their passport(s) for travel abroad and other documents entitling them to leave and enter Ukraine with the relevant state authorities for safekeeping.
The term of these obligations is until 30 March 2026.
What preceded this?
- Earlier, the media reported that NABU and SAPO were conducting a search at the home of former State Border Guard Service head Deineko.
Recall that NABU reported that in 2023, a group of individuals organised the illegal transportation of cigarettes across the state border of Ukraine to the EU. This was facilitated by top officials of the State Border Guard Service, who received illegal benefits on a regular basis.
The former head of the State Border Guard Service is among the suspects.
