55 combat engagements recorded on the front lines, with highest number occurring in Lyman and Pokrovsk sectors, - General Staff
Since the start of the day, the aggressor has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 55 times.
This is stated in the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of 4:00 p.m. on June 18, according to Censor.NET.
Russian strikes on Ukraine
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the following settlements were hit: Neskuchne, Rohizne, Korenok, Sopych, Yastrubshchyna, Ulanove, Tovstodubove, Ryzhivka, Volfyne, Neskuchne, Brusky, and Sumy.
The situation in the north
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, since the start of the day, the invaders have attacked our troops’ positions once and carried out 47 shelling attacks, including six using multiple launch rocket systems.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the invaders made two attempts to break through the defenses near Lyman and toward Izbytske. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, our defenders repelled two enemy attempts to advance toward Radkivka and Kolisnykivka.
Fighting in the east
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Shyikivka, Stavy, Drobysheve, and Lyman, as well as in the areas surrounding the settlements of Novoselivka, Derylove, Zarichne, and Yampil. Four engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces repelled five attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka, as well as in the area of Zakytne and Kaleniky. One firefight is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders launched one attack toward Malynivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, our defenders repelled nine attacks near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Illinivka. One engagement is currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the occupiers have attempted 11 times to dislodge our troops from their positions in the areas around the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, and Filiia, as well as toward the settlements of Bilytske, Dorozhne, Shevchenko, and Serhiivka. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched a single attack toward Oleksandrohrad.
Combat operations in the south
In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled nine enemy attacks directed at the settlements of Dobropillia, Huliaipilske, and Hirke; two firefights are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders repelled three enemy attempts to advance in the Stepnohirsk area.
According to the General Staff, the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
In other areas, there have been no significant changes in the situation so far. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.
