"If Russian Federation is involved in drone attack in Leipzig, then this constitutes state terrorism," - Brantner, leader of German Greens
The leader of the Green Party in Germany, Franziska Brantner, believes that the German government should declare this an act of state terrorism by Russia if it is confirmed that Russian intelligence was involved in the incident involving an explosive drone at Leipzig Airport.
She made these remarks in a comment to DPA, as quoted by Handelsblatt and reported by Censor.NET.

Brantner made a statement ahead of a press conference by German government ministers, at which they may announce that the Russian Federation is responsible for the appearance of a drone carrying explosives at Leipzig Airport.
"It is a bitter truth, though it comes as no surprise to anyone, that the Russian secret service is clearly behind the attempted attack at Leipzig Airport," said Brantner.
According to her, in response to the incident involving the Russian Federation, Germany must coordinate closely with its European partners and NATO allies.
"If this information is confirmed, the German Government must recognise this incident as a serious act of Russian state terrorism. Our strength lies precisely in the fact that we respond collectively. Putin perceives anything else as a sign of weakness", she added.
According to reports in *Bild* and *Spiegel*, the German federal government also believes that the Russian secret service was behind the attack, although Berlin has not yet officially commented on the situation.
Germany is preparing a response to the drone attack at Leipzig Airport

What led up to it
- It was previously reported that a drone was discovered near a Ukrainian aircraft at the airport on the night of Tuesday 4 August. It was equipped with explosives and a detonator. According to Die Zeit, the aircraft in question is an Antonov, which is believed to belong to the Ukrainian Air Force.
- NATO has confirmed that it is aware of this incident. The German police deployed a bomb-disposal robot to retrieve the drone.
- Subsequently, German media reported that
there was ammunition on board the Ukrainian cargo plane, next to which a drone containing explosives had been found at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
- US intelligence believes that the drone carrying explosives, which was discovered at Leipzig-Halle Airport in Germany, probably belongs to the Russian Federation.
