German Economy Minister Reiche spoke about difficult conversation with Zelenskyy: they discussed corruption

German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche spoke about the difficult negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which corruption scandals in Ukraine were discussed.
She made this statement in an interview with Bild, according to Censor.NET.

"Yes, of course, this needs to be discussed as well, and we are doing just that," the minister noted.
Regarding the billions of euros that Germany is providing to Kyiv for weapons and infrastructure, Reiche said, "We want to be sure that this money is actually being used for that purpose."
She added:
"If Ukraine is truly serious about moving toward the European Union ... the issue of corruption is something that absolutely must be addressed."
According to the minister, Ukraine has assured that it will continue to work on this.
"But we will also have to ensure that this does not remain merely an assurance, but that we see measurable results," Reiche concluded.

- As a reminder, on October 4, Friedrich Merz, Economy Minister Katherina Reiche, and 10 executives from companies in the defense and energy sectors arrived in Kyiv.
