Over 20 artillery systems, two "Buk" air defence systems and command posts: Third Corps’ artillery is destroying enemy during Operation "Vivaldi". VIDEO
During Operation ‘Vivaldi’, the artillery of the Third Army Corps launched large-scale strikes against Russian positions, equipment and command posts, supporting the advance of Ukrainian assault units.
According to Censor.NET, to carry out the operation, the Third Corps command formed one of the largest artillery groups among the corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which made it possible to maintain a high rate of fire even in the event of individual guns being taken out of action.
Artillerymen from the 52nd Separate Artillery Brigade and rocket artillery units from other brigades kept Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiazi and the surrounding areas under constant fire control.
As a result, the Ukrainian military isolated specific sections of the front line, preventing the Russians from redeploying reserves, equipment and ammunition to retake lost positions.
Meanwhile, HIMARS units from the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade struck targets in the enemy’s rear. According to the corps, more than 20 artillery systems, two ‘Buk’ anti-aircraft missile systems and two transport-loading vehicles for them were destroyed.
Russian battalion-level and higher-level command posts were also hit.
Working in coordination with the artillery, strike UAV operators identified targets, adjusted fire, assessed the results of strikes and finished off any surviving equipment.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the artillery and unmanned systems, Russian units lost the ability to manoeuvre and deploy reinforcements in an organised manner, whilst the assault troops of the Third Corps continued their advance.
